Bobcat releases track loader with more reach, height and capacity

Bobcat Co. is releasing an improved Tier-4 compliant track loader -- the MT 85 -- which is the company's first new mini track loader since releasing the MT 52 a decade ago.

Bobcat touted the machine's versatility when paired with Bobcat attachments, as well as the loader's standalone effectiveness in tight spaces. The 36- or 44-inch wide machine can turn on its tracks with minimal ground damage and fit through most fence gates, making it as ideal for backyard projects as for larger commercial sites.

At the same time, the MT 85 has been made heartier by most major measures. Its 850 -pound rated operating capacity is 35 percent higher, can lift materials 12 percent higher, and has a lift arm's breakout force that has been improved by 29 percent. The company is also including a common industry interface and a Bob-Tach mounting system that will allow operators the greatest flexibility in matching attachments in a way that's familiar to them.

The MT 85 is nearly twice as fast as its previous iteration and is built with a ride-on platform.
