Cummins earns perfect score on LGBT workers' survey

Cummins recently earned a perfect score on a survey assessing workplace equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employees that was conducted by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, the largest LGBT advocacy group in the U.S.

“At Cummins, we have a long legacy of embracing the opportunities created by a diverse organization,” Cummins Chairman and CEO Tom Linebarger said. “We believe that by embracing diversity we can attract and retain the best talent and ultimately compete more effectively in the marketplace.”

This year's perfect score was the 11th straight for Cummins on the survey, which has been distributed annually since 2002. This year's version was sent to 1,024 companies and posed questions on nondiscrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community.

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation also manages campaigns for youth and families, health and aging, and religion and faith focused on the rights and equal treatment for LGBT people.
