MTU exhibits EU Stage V engines for farm and forest

Diesel engine maker MTU will be at the 2015 Agritechnica exhibit in Hanover, Germany this week, showing off four new engines for agriculture and forestry applications.

The three new Series 1000-1500 engines have been specifically designed, in collaboration with Daimler, to meet the projected EU Stage V emissions standards for diesel engines through an SCR system and a diesel particulate filter. The improvements come with more low-end torque and better fuel efficiency. The new engines are compatible with a wide range of equipment, but were designed specifically with combine harvesters, maize choppers, large tractors, beet lifters, self-propelled field sprayers, timber shredders and tree harvesters in mind.

MTU's fourth new engine on display at the exhibit will be a 10V 1600, designed for high-power agriculture and forestry equipment. They are available in a range from 567 to 736 kW.

All four engines meet current U.S. EPA Tier 4 regulations.

MTU's booth will be in Hall 17, stand D09. In addition to demonstrating its new engines, the company will also be promoting its original-brand spare supply program and other customer service initiatives. MTU maintains a network of over 1,200 service centers across the globe. MTU is a Rolls-Royce company.
