Qmatec Drilling AS has partnered with Sandvik Mining and Construction on a deal to extend sales, service and support for Qmatec drilling products to customers throughout Sweden and the United Kingdom.

Sandvik will take on a variety of Qmatec's down-the-hole drilling rigs designed for well, energy and foundation drilling.

Qmatec's operations are based in Vinje, Norway, but the company is eager to grow internationally. Qmatec drill rigs were marketed under the Nemek brand before Qmatec purchased Nemek in 2007. The company now outfits onshore and offshore drilling projects throughout the world through its products and its engineering and consulting services.

Sandvik distributes breaking, drilling, and crushing equipment worldwide through approximately 3,000 employees. The company has worked in construction materials since opening in 1862 under Göran Fredrik Göransson, founder of Sweden's steel industry and the first to adapt the Bessemer steel production process to an industrial model.
