Kirby-Smith promotes Arterberry to crane division sales manager

Equipment distributor Kirby-Smith Machinery Inc. announced Monday that it has promoted John Arterberry to sales manager for its crane division.

Arterberry has been working as the crane division sales manager for Kirby-Smith's Texas locations, after filling a variety of other roles in the company's rental divisions since 2001. Company officials praised his productivity and diverse skill set.

“We expect this new role that John is taking on will provide the necessary synergy and continuity between our 10 branch locations to maximize inventory availability and provide more insight into new, innovative products from our key manufacturer partners, and ultimately will lead to an enhanced level of service for our current and future clients,” said Vice President and Crane Division Manager Ben Graham.

Kirby-Smith began in 1983 as a used equipment dealer in Oklahoma City. The company maintains its headquarters there today, but has since expanded its business to the distribution of 29 different brands of equipment and parts, focusing on the construction, road building, and crane businesses. Arterberry said he is excited to take charge of crane division at a time of such expansion.

“I want to see the growth for the crane division, companywide,” Arterberry said. “When I started at Kirby-Smith, we had the two locations in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Now we have 10 locations that sell cranes in some capacity, and I will do everything I can to see that we grow even further.”
