The Great American Trucking Show (GATS) recently reported that a Mack Pinnacle 70-inch high-rise sleeper model delivered Evel Knievel’s 1974 Mack FS786LST model show truck to the show last month.
The truck, which is called Big Red, came to the Dallas show immediately after it appeared in Hollywood’s documentary film called “Being Evel.” The truck was displayed in Mack booth No. 12093 at GATS.
Big Red is among the most famous over-the-road trucks to ever drive on U.S. highways. The fully restored vehicle is a main feature in a traveling exhibit that displays Knievel memorabilia. including his leather outfits, motorcycles, medical X-rays, helmets and casts.
“When Evel Knievel needed a tough, durable truck to get him and his equipment to his jumps, he chose a Mack,” John Walsh, Mack's vice president of marketing, said. “Today’s Mack models carry on that tradition of dependability, which is why we couldn’t be more proud to once again have Mack trucks bringing the legend of Evel Knievel to fans across the country.”
