Sany to adopt AT&T telematics technology to track equipment
Telematics services from AT&T are designed to give commercial equipment manufacturers and fleet owners a turnkey solution that's easy to use and cost effective.
Sany America has teamed with AT&T to introduce the telematics service on its heavy machinery, beginning with excavators. There are plans to expand the telematics services to Sany’s other products in the near future.
At the heart of the telematics services are the AT&T Global SIM and the M2M Application platform. The solution provides a management and monitoring portal that’s accessible on any device.
That gives companies like Sany the ability to better protect and manage their heavy equipment assets remotely.
Telematics services from AT&T for commercial equipment include the location and history of the piece of equipment. The telematic service shows where a piece of equipment is at currently and also a history of where it was previously operating.
AT&T’s platform also provides detailed reports on how equipment is being used, and real-time diagnostic and condition alerts that notify users of any equipment service needs or the possibility of component failures. This also assists in maintenance planning and tracking.
"For commercial equipment owners, knowing the exact location and condition of the machinery is critical," Mike Troiano, vice president at AT&T Mobility, said. "Historically, commercial equipment manufacturers have paid a hefty price to get effective resource management solutions. Our telematics services offers them a cost-effective and simple solution that can be implemented quickly and globally."
