JCB unveils 90Z-1 Zero Tailswing Compact Excavator

JCB recently began selling a new excavator called the 90Z-1 Zero Tailswing Compact Excavator.

The 9.9-ton vehicle is powered by a 74-horsepower JCB by Kohler Tier 4 Final diesel engine that drives with Bosch Rexroth hydraulic valves, Nachi slew motors and track drives.

Its maximum digging depth is 13 feet, 7 inches, with a 17-foot, nine-inch dump height and 24-foot, 3-inch reach at ground level. The excavator also has greater bucket tear-out and dipper-arm tear-out forces, thanks to the increased hydraulic pump capacity and larger hydraulic cylinders.

With the reduced-loss design of the hydraulic system, the excavator has fewer parasitic losses, placing less demand on the engine and saving fuel.

Other features include both ECO and Heavy modes for digging, depending on your needs; a revised H-design undercarriage; 100 percent steel bodywork and spacious operator environment; a swing-bracket design with slewing boom for improved confined site access; an auto-idle feature that can be set for between 2 and 30 seconds to initiate; a 30-degree tilting cab; and a graphite-based pin and push design for 500-hour greasing intervals.
