John Deere announced on Thursday a new model of their Gator line of utility vehicles.
The 2016 RSX860i is the latest in the company's line of utility vehicles; the company states that this model has new features and better functionality to serve operators and owners. In this model, the makers have added power steering functionality along with upgrades in speed and maneuverability.
The new engine is able to perform faster, up to 7,750 rpm, previous engines were only able to reach 7,250 rpm.
"Every adjustment and addition made to the RSX860i comes as result of our team actively listening to customer feedback," Mark Davey, John Deere marketing manager for Gator utility vehicles, said. "Top speed was one of the priorities we considered with these updates, and we were able to increase the maximum speed to 60 mph (97 kph)."
The electric power assist steering (EPAS) also features an anti-kickback component in order for the operator to quickly unwind pent-up steering in order to adapt quickly to the surrounding terrain. Switches in the vehicle have also had backlighting added for easier identification and use during evening and early morning operations, or other times where visibility is limited.
The Gator RSX860i is available to order and will be available at most John Deere dealerships by the middle of July.
