Summit Materials Inc., which is a vertically integrated construction materials company, recently announced that it has acquired LeGrand Johnson Construction Company, which is a vertically integrated construction materials company located in Utah.
LeGrand provides services to its clients and markets in central and northern Utah, southern Idaho and western Wyoming. The company runs five sand and gravel pits as well as four ready mix concrete plants. It also operates five asphalt plants.
"This acquisition is consistent with our materials-based growth strategy and is a great fit with our Kilgore business in Utah and the surrounding states," Tom Hill, CEO of Summit, said. "LeGrand has established many strong customer relationships and an excellent reputation for high-quality products and services over its long history. We are very pleased to welcome Legrand and its employees to Summit Materials."
According to the acquisition, LeGrand will now be part of Summit’s Kilgore Companies based within Utah.
