Atlas Copco acquires Mustang Services

The operating assets of Mustang Services, based in Mesquite, Texas, has been acquired by Atlas Copco, a leading provider of sustainable productivity solutions.

Mustang Services, which was part of privately owned Mustang Transportation Co., is a specialty dryer rental business that rents out equipment to industries such as refineries, petrochemical plants and general manufacturing.

"This acquisition fits well with our strategy as it expands our offering in North America, the biggest market for rental of dryers," said Andrew Walker, president of the Construction Technique business area. "It enhances our customers' access to our products and services."

Some of the equipment includes adsorption-type air dryers and air compressors, and Mustang Services mostly rents them out to industrial end-users as well as other rental companies. Both products can be rented together.

Two of the Mustang Services’ employees are joining Atlas Copco, which was founded in 1873 and is based in Stockholm, Sweden. Atlas Copco provides customers with innovative compressors, vacuum solutions and air treatment systems, construction and mining equipment, power tools and assembly systems. Atlas Copco also develops products and services focused on productivity, energy efficiency, safety and ergonomics.
