Atlas Copco acquires Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum

Atlas Copco announced today that it will pay more than $517 million to acquire the German vacuum business Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum. Based in Cologne, OLV is a subsidiary of the Swiss technology company Oerlikon. It has about 1,600 employees and generated more than $381 million in revenue in 2014. Edwards to open manufacturing facility in China

Edwards will use a Qingdao facility in China as its global base for the manufacture of rotary-vane and liquid-ring vacuum pumps, company officials announced. “This state-of-the-art manufacturing facility lets us be close to our customers in China so that we can help them increase their productivity through our innovative vacuum and abatement solutions,” Atlas Copco's CEO said.
